I think there’s also a point to be made about the proliferation of “therapy speak” and how it can be used to justify controlling behaviour. I’m not sure that’s something for me to write about but a couple of therapist pals and my sister (who’s a therapist) have brought this up a few times.
Great piece, you touched on what I believe to be the heart and root cause of the problem, the misuse and abuse of language.
